I have all the parts in my cart, and im about to pull the trigger on buying this, as i have a coupon code that ends at midnight.  This will be used for 2560x1080 60fps high to ultra gaming and for medium to light video and photo ending.  Any thoughts?

I also forgot, in a few months when i have a bit more money, i will be getting another kit of that ram for a 4x4GB config as well as two hard drives in RAID.  This is just to get up and running

I'd get a different ssd, ssd Plus isn't that great.

If that's the case, you should get 1x8gb now instead of 2x4

what is wrong with redundancy.  I have had drives fail in the past and it sucks

:o you're doing RAID1 

 

If you're considering that though, having an external GPU which you use as a backup drive is more effective. It'll be just as effective in the event of a hard drive failure, and if you have a psu poop on the pc or a power surge that kills your pc, your data will still be there.

Not too sure.

 

What I'm suggesting though is you have one hard drive, and another external one that you leave unplugged most of the time and plug in once every month or so and just clone your hard drive to it or just copy all your files over to it.
