my wd green external drive is broken? please help me recver my files

So, i was using my wd green 2 tb hatd and copying my games into it while doing so my hard drive suddenly stopped working. So i opened my hard drive and i found out that my hard drive needle from the actuator arm is broken.

 

So i manually tried to back to disk and i plugged to my pc then i saw that the needle went to disk for a couple of seconds then a click sound occur and it automatically went back outside the disk.(the disk isnt shown in the computer). 

so can anyone tell me how can i fix this issue. Please help me it has my whole life worth of data in it.

you could ask the WD support team if they're willing to recover your data on a new drive for a good amount of money. the only thing left would be trying to buy a used WD green and maybe replacing the reader head

 

PS: the other ones also look bent so you'd need to replace the whole arm with the several layers of reading heads

Greens aren't really archival drives,

 

I'd use a black or red for that,

 

if the data is really that important, go with a professional data recovery company, as they have all sorts of experience and expertise in this

You probably voided any warranty you may have still had (if you had one) by opening it. That's NOT something you should do with a drive. You can see if some professional places will still take a look at it, but they often charge very large amounts of money.

Unfortunately, the area where I live there are no hard drive recovery professional that I can get help

If there is another way please let me know

More than likely there isn't. You did the worst thing possible to the drive: opening it. That should only be done in a clean room environment, and would void any warranty.

When nothing is lost then buy a similar hard drive that you get broken parts. This is the cheapest option and success percentage is HA HAA
