So im currently running on my rig 2x4 GB mismatched RAM sticks, my friend recently upgraded from 8 to 16 and told me it made a huge difference in DCS: World, that got me hyped so i went on my local hardware website and got a heart attack, where i live (Dubai) everything is more expensive by a factor of 300, on the website its 521 AED which is about 144USD then i went on newegg and amazon and found the same exact RAM the 16GB DDR3-1866MHz Kingston HyperX Blue Fury, 2x8GB for 30 to 40 USD less, here is the dilemma is that RAM performance going to make up for the price?

RAM is like VRAM on your GPU, it only starts to limit your gaming performance when it runs out.

As of today, games are RAM hungry. 8 GB is definetly a minimum to us gamers.

If it'll make an impact on your system like it did on your friends, it's hart to say without knowing the rest of your specs.

I do however believe that 16GB is the sweetspot of RAM in gaming :)

Those are all pretty light games, you would definetly see more improvement in getting a new GPU rather than RAM.

I'm unsure if you'll see a performance increase by upgrading RAM, probably some but nothing mindblowing.

Not ENTIRELY sure, but more RAM is always nice. Your system in general is aging however, DDR3 RAM is about to go so if you buy new RAM now and decide to upgrade your system later you won't get to reuse those new RAM sticks you bought.
