so stepping ot it up a little.. still going to need a lot of input. Budget about 3k or less. I'd like to keep it low 2k but whatever lol.. so far this is what I have in mind.

The motherboard and AIO are unnecessarily expensive. I wouldn't go for a reference GTX 1080 due to the blower-style cooler which will produce more heat than your average aftermarket solution.

 

Here's a $2600 build with a much nicer monitor. Many would argue that 1440p 144Hz surpasses 4K 60Hz if you're going to game:

If you could give a bit of information on what was going through your mind when you added each part, that'd be great. I see a good theme running through all your parts, but I think I could find some alternatives to each one with a bit of info on what you're looking for.

 

For instance, why did you pick that motherboard in particular? Was it for the shrouds (take a look at the Code)? Was it for the performance (Apex would be better)? Feature-richness and RGB (Gigabyte Gaming 8)? 

 

What about that case? Were you looking for something with a full side window? Does the handle make a big difference? Is the inverted layout important to you?

Mostly I picked items based off of being new to the build it yourself game. I'm not 100% in anyway when looking at specs lol
