Windows 10 update issue

Someone I know contacted me with a problem today and I don't exactly know what to do.

 

When she tried to start up her laptop (Asus ROG not shure wich one) and tried to log in it said a program was interfering with her login attempt.

Then she restarted her laptop and it brought her to the update schreen (the one where it says hello there are new updates ready for you this will only take a few minutes) and it has been stuck there for the past 5 hours, i've been trying to think of something but I honestly can't so I'm hoping anyone here can help me further.

Does her laptop have an SSD? It can take ages otherwise. And you can always try shutting it off, as that will stop the update and then force it to retry next time you boot.
