My usb 3.0 ports are giving power but no data through rear and usb 3 header ports on the front of my case. Any device I plug in charges if possible or displays a power indicator light, but does not show any connectivity to the pc. Usb 2 still work as normal. Both the Asus m5a97 r2.0, and the MSI 970a carbon motherboards have shown this issue. If i pull the out of my system and run them on a test bench about 50% of the time the usb 3 will work. Put them back inside my pc and within a day or two they stop working again. I don't touch any drivers. I have reformatted all my hard drives in the thought that maybe i have some type of virus that would be removing a driver somehow. nothing works.

So far i have triple checked that I have the proper drivers for all my devices up to date. I have checked that both motherboards bios are up to date. I have reformatted windiows 10 pro onto 2 separate ssd's with either of the drivers. I've looked through several asmedia drivers to see if any of them fix the issue. I've checked the usb 3 cable to see if there's any cuts in it, and moved it around to see if a short has started. I've changed out power supplies and ever graphics cards just to see if anything changes. I have contacted both Asus and MSI both said to just rma the boards but neither are within warranty. I'll list every part I've tested below. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
