Newbie help!

Hello guys,

 

Just wanna know if this build will be able to run top games like GTA 5 and Tomb Raider 1080p or even 1440p at 60fps.

 

Ima newbie so any help is appreciated..

 

i5 6400 3.3GHz

GTX 1060 6GB DDR5

H110M Pro motherboard

8GB RAM DDR4

1TB HDD

 

Is the processor ok and enough to run these games?

tomb raider at 1440p 60fps with gtx 1060 is like finding a unicorn. my 480 4gb at 1080p sometimes drop down to 40fps max settings at 1080p

 

you need at least 1070 or 1080 for 1440p

and I highly suggest getting R5 1600 instead

 

if you have limited money to spend then don't think highly of 1060 as a 1440p card

some 1060 models are able to do 1440p gaming. Not all of them though.

With that hardware you'd have a much better experience at 1080p. Also, have you bought it yet or are these parts you will buy?

They're all based on the same card, so the results won't differentiate to the degree you're thinking about. If you're referring to the difference between the 3gb and 6gb cards, then yes, the performance jumps when you go from 3 to 6.

It's mainly 1080p I'm aiming for but just wondering how it would fair at 1440p.

 

I would like to play GTA 5 at high/ultra at 1080 mostly so just wondering how GTA,TR would fair at 1080p.

 

I have not bought parts yet...thanks for replies guys

my 1060 runs TR fine at 1080p with max settings. Dunno about gta 5 though

the 1060 will play games at 1440p high-ultra depending on the game.

i can say with 100% certainty you will run these games at 60 fps at 1080p because i do. with some drops but never below comfort zone. and i have 4460 and gtx 960 4gb.
