Finally finished my build. Had some questions regarding overclocking. Currently its running at 21 idle and 44 under load. Is there anywhere I can get a list of voltages to try based on different clocks? I tried 5 with 1.356v I think and it was running at 59 under load 

i7 7700k OC 5.1ghz

1080ti EVGA FTW3

960 Samsung Pro 512gb

32gb Vengeance LPX 3200mhz

z270 Extreme 4 mobo

x62 AIO.

1.35 is basically the limit of what you want right now.

if you have good cooling and don't mind sacrificing some lifespan, you could go up to 1.4, but that's really pushing it.

 

every CPU is different. some are "golden" and need very little voltage to go to 5Ghz. others suck, and can't reach 5Ghz even if you pump 1.5V into them. it's the silicon lottery.

 

judging by your low load temps at 5Ghz, you probably have a very good chip. is 1.356v the lowest you can get stable at 5Ghz? if so, then you're done. if not, then increase clockspeed until it's stable. I wouldn't recommend any more voltage though.

Just the first one I tried from a video I saw, this is all very new to me but I'm trying to learn, yes the temps seem extremely good, despite my lack of knowledge. What voltage shall I start off on for 5ghz and how will I know if it's stable? Thank you.

just lower your voltage a bit, run a stress test for 10 minutes or so, and if it crashes, then it's not stable.

when you get to a voltage that is unstable, then go back to the lowest stable voltage you've found.

 

Then, run a very long stress test, 12 hours or so, to see if it crashes then. if it doesn't, you've found your final voltage for 5Ghz. if it crashes, up the voltage a tiny bit, and try again.

 

I'd recommend you set your voltage to 1.35, or just keep it at 1.356, and to the same thing I told you to do with voltage, but instead increase the clock speed.

 

so increase clockspeed to 5.1Ghz, test it, see if it's stable. if it is, then go to 5.2, test, etc.

if you hit a limit with your clockspeed, then just set it to the highest you can get stable, and leave it.
