DDR4 Problem

Go to solution Solved by Endeavor01,

G.SKILL TridentZ Supports only Z270 motherboards and I guess H110M is too different of a chipset while B150 is close enough for both sticks to work.

I'll just have to use 1 stick until I order a Z270 ITX board. Thanks for the input.

I have an ITX motherboard with 2 RAM slots and a max memory configuration of 32GB. Link

I have 2x 4GB HyperX DDR4 sticks and 2x 8GB G.Skill TridentZ sticks

The problem is, any configuration will work except when both TridentZ sticks are in the system. This includes the following:
1 TridentZ 1 Blank slot (Both Configurations)

1 TridentZ 1 HyperX (All 4 Configurations)

2 HyperX

Usually I don't ask for help here but I'm kind of stumped. I have:
- Updated my BIOS

- Reset my BIOS (Removing CMOS Battery)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If they don't have the same timings they might not be compatible. Its best not to mix ram for that reason. That's my best guess but I could be wrong.

Unsure what power supply to pick?

You could also use the board explorer in the bios to see if it detects it or not.

Sorry I should have clarified, the system will not POST if both trident Z dimms are together while it will with any other combination. Not to mention these sticks are from the same kit.

But to make things more interesting, I slotted the dimms into my i3 6100 and b150 mobo and it posted just fine in the proper dual channel configuration. I forgot to mention I'm using an i5 6600k in my main rig. I'm going to reseat the cpu next.
