Mouse and KB on passive USB hub?

vergil09

Hi! I am currently using a laptop with limited ports (2 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0), and the two are always occupied with my mouse and keyboard.
I wonder if I can use a passive USB hub to plug both my mouse and keyboard there? If yes, will a USB 2.0 hub do? Or will I require a 3.0 one?
Thanks in advance :)
Mouse: Logitech G502
Keyboard: Motospeed CK104

You can connect both. You might have problems if they each use a lot of power and the total power is greater than an individual USB port can output AND depending on the length. I doubt USB 3.0 with the extra power standard will help at all since kb/mice are all 2.0 anyways and will only connect on the existing 2.0 wires.

I've personally hit the limit with long USB cables and a bit more demanding power devices.
