overclocking CPU overclocking guide

Dear,

 

I wanted to know if someone on has a guide where step by step is told how to overclock a CPU. And which settings are recommended and necessary.

I have overclocked before, but all of these overclocks were done with a mix of Youtube tutorials.(those overclocks are all stable and still run)

So I wondered if some one has or knows a place where I can get a well written guide.

If you have Ryzen there is a guide in my signature.

 

If you have Intel:

 

- Google your max safe voltage.

- Increase clock speed until fail. (fail = failed boot, failed cinebench run or failed AIDA64)

- Increase voltage and retest.

- Repeat above cycle until you reach desired OC or max safe voltage.

- Enable load line calibration to prevent V droop under load.

Do you also know a place where you can find full guides for pc's?

I like it when the stuff I know is written out so whenever I forget something I can go back.

I know I can find everything on the internet but there is lot's of crap out there.

If you search CPU overclocking guide pretty much any of the first few websites that pop up are great, only thing is don't use auto overclocking and some will recommend prime95 for stress testing, which you shouldn't use (use aida64 or asus realbench instead, prime95 often over does it and is extremely unrealistic). Other's might also recommend using stuff like cinebench, I'd personally rather do a stress test for 5-10 min instead.
