I'm currently meeting with my ddr3 sticks for the lolz but since it can't be anything higher than 1600, I messed with the timings instead. It, of coursed, ran into some booting problems so I tried to up the dram voltages and my questions are that do voltages increasing is needed when it comes to tightening RAM timings and what is the safe voltage or the limit before it cooked itself

XMP profile: 9-9-9-24-2N-256(tRFC) @ 1.5

Tightened : 8-9-9-21-1T-250(tRFC) @ 1.65

With DDR3 most commonly I found people wanted to keep the voltages under 1.7V

At the same time though more power will only take you so far. You'll hit a point were more power doesn't help.
