I am wanting to set up a small Raid 1 array using 2 HDD for a total of maybe 1TB for backups only. I donot posses huge libraries or any such stuff just some C Drive backups and other personal backups

What in your opinion would be a budget level raid drives?

I dont want server grade stuff as the array will not be used that heavily!

If its a hard drive it can be RAIDed don't fall for the BS that only certain drives can be RAIDed. A drive is a drive, unless you're trying to do something super fancy a regular drive is just fine.

Fancy as trying to establish some IOPS record or something like that, for everyday use any drive is fine.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

Eh this is kind of true. What does separate the higher end drives though is life span and vibration resistance.

In theory. I still have some lame old IDE basement bargain drives that still work. Meanwhile I also have a grave yard of Enterprise drives which are dead as can be that are only 4 years old, the IDE's are maybe 8 years old. Its all random.
