Help, I want to put Windows ISO on my usb drive but rufus fails because drive is apparently write protected. Does anyone have any good idea how to remove write protection? I I havo no idea, tried with cmd but it isn't working.

PC: R7 5800X, AMD RX480 4GB, 32 GB RAM, 1TB 970 EVO, 500 GB 860 EVO, 500 GB HDD, RM 750 PSU

Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 510s 14":  i5 7200U, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB 860 EVO

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G

Windows 10 I assume? 

 

You can download it from Microsoft and it has an option to make it into a bootable drive.

I tried that and it failed , maybe it was write protected before.

In my experience, the USB might be broken.

 

However you can try to format on different PC using normal windows formatter, better if you have different OS, such as Linux or Mac.

 

There are guides on google to try for read only problem, you can always try that first.
