Hey, so I have been in the process of building my very own first rig, and I decided to go with older server stuff, kinda like Linus did in that one episode, and I am having some issues. Most of them, I have resolved, but this last one, I feel I need the power of LMG fans to solve.

The current board I went with is the Intel S5000PSL, as weird as that may be. I have contacted the seller on numerous occasions, and when I described my issues, he said I need to purchase another PSU, the one that was officially supported by Intel. The only issue is, the specific ones that i have found don't have any cables or inputs for the board itself. I need to find some way to supply power to the board, whether that means "jerry-rigging" the PSU I have now, a standered 850 ATX one, or buying another one.

If this is helpful, this is the model of the PSU that the guy suggested: Xyratex 850W Power Supply Model HS-PSU-850-AC-INT / DS850-3-002-005

I can't find a way to power the board efficiently. When I use the PSU I own, the MOBO just displays a few LEDs, and the CPU fan spins, but there is no post, or any sort of video output.

Full specs?

Can we get the full specs for every component in the system, how you tested the CPU and RAM to see if they are working, and how many watts the power supply is?

ENCRYPTION IS NOT A CRIME

Sure-

Motherboard: Intel S5000PSL (tested at retailer, by retailer twice.)

CPU: Two Xeon X5450s (Didn't test those, but possibility of both being bad is slim)

RAM: 4 sticks of 512mbFully Buffered ECC 1Rx8 Samsung (Taken from other build, so I know those are working)

PSU: Generic 850w (Tested with normal PSU tester)

P.S. I also have an adapter coming in the mail soon from a Molex to a 4-pin power input that you see in the picture, above the PCI slots, just in case it would you notice. I originally thought it was unnecessary, but a few people with the same build told me it was.
