Hi, when I locally record with OBS Studio using x264, CBR 6000 bitrate, CPU fast preset, main profile... All games are recorded without issues and the video playback is fine... except Overwatch.

When I want to record Overwatch I just get a black screen with sound in the video playback. I can get it to work by going on the desktop, start recording and then go back in the game but the game playback is choppy as hell and it is not pleasant to watch. The game runs at well above 100FPS even when I am recording so... I don't know where the issue is.

Base: 2560x1440 165Hz

Recording to: 1280x720 48FPS

i7 4770k 4.5GHz

Probably a problem when OBS tries to hook into Overwatch. Tried the compatibility options under source?

Then there's the obligatory run OBS as admin as well, if you aren't already.

So I tried to run OBS as admin and I just get game menu screen in the playback even though I started recording AFTER I got into the game without the menu screen ever displayed... wtf.

EDIT:

The compatibility mode works for Game Capture Source when I specifically choose Overwatch, thanks.

I was using Display Capture before and there is no option for compatibility mode.
