Skyrim fps drop

This really pisses me off. Sometimes fps drops low all the sudden (especially when going outside) & from 60 it drops to 30 & game lags a little. To restore normal fps it needs to quite the game & launch it again.

Any tips to solve this?

Just wondering, do you have VSync turned on?

New GPU? The 560 is getting old.

Is VSync on? Mod list? Background programs? Does it only happen in certain spots at the same time or does it happen at random times?

New GPU? The 560 is getting old. 

But it handles it on ultra with 60fps if not count that sudden drops which is cause by game itself.

Yes, but it had fps drops before mods too

Yep, v sync's on, mods doesn't cause it as, it happened before them too. No background programs. It seems, it only happens when entering in new location (sometimes).

That might be your problem. VSync does some crazy stuff.

Hmm, I can't find the vsync option. This is all I have in options:

 

 

I don't play Elder Scrolls games but I'm sure it is the same process as Fallout. You have to go into the Skyrim.ini and change 'iPresentInterval=1' to 0.

 

After you do that you should probably turn adaptive Vsync on in the Nvidia control centre.
