I would say 1070 is minimum, 1080/1080TI is ideal

Don't SLI. Many games won't utilize it fully.

Hey guys,

First things first:

CPU: Intel I7 6700K (4.2Ghz)
GFX CARD: MSI 970GTX Gaming 4G
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB (4X8GB) 3200Mhz DDR4
MOBO: MSI Z170A Tomahawk
CASE: Corsair Obsidian 750D
PSU: Cougar CM 1000W @ 80A
DISPLAY: Benq XL2411Z 24" 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms
OS: Windows 10 Pro X64

I have plans for upgrading my graphics card (970gtx) close to the end of the year but I cannot decide on a replacement card. The 1080 GTX TI would be my primary preference but it is just way to expensive (I live in South Africa bad exchange rate). I am running a 144hz monitor so I a looking for some more power at this stage since i like to crank up the pc video settings. I am trying to decide on either a 1070gtx sooner and then get another 1070gtx later for SLI or just save up for a 1080gtx (non TI). Any advice or recommendations to make the most of my 144hz monitor? Well besides the obvious point of lowering settings, or am just being unrealistic?

Any help would be appreciated.

What? xD he's playing at 1080p... You will massively under utilise a 1080Ti at that resolution. A 1070 will be able to achieve 144Hz ultra settings

1080TI just for future proof.
Some games can't hit 144FPS with 1070 in 1080p
