I recently bought a new CUP, i7 7700k, motherboard, ASUS strix Z270E Gaming, and RAM, 16GB Corsair Dominator Plaitinum. And I'm using a H100i v2 AIO cooler.

Now it's all installed but once I'd booted it up and go to the desktop I opened Corsair link And noticed the temperature on the CPU keeps wildly jumping about from around 35 degrees to 50 and all between and the load spikes too to around 20% with nothing running, but temperatures can't jump and cool that quick surely.

It also seemed that when changing the profile of my cooler it wasn't as loud as it used to be making me think it's limited some how And the RPM of the cooler reads zero on corsair link.

I read it might be something to do with q-fan control on my motherboard so I went into the BIOS and disabled the CPU q-fan but now the cooler spins up and calms and fluctuates constantly, however with this the RPM  of the cooler bow shows.

I applied thermal paste to the CUP and the radiator fans are connected to the 2 adapters on the pump block of the cooler which is connected to the CPU fan header (I've heard about using the CPU OPT header?).

This all had me concerned and would appreciate the help, thanks in advance

This make it sounds like your sensor finally took a shit.

Do you have ASUS AI Suite?

The profile in your AI Suite overrides the BIOS setup for your fan.

You must set your pump header to work on DC mode with fixed max RPM.

That would explain the variation of temperature during IDLE time, if your software is lowering the pump RPM when the CPU is cool it will just raise it again when it is hot.

When a system boots or when you launch a program the temperatures do jump sharply then drop as the system loads all the programs at boot or when a activated program is finished loading, that is normal and if anyone monitors their system with say core temp you would see it.

The fan issue is linked to the MOBO fan settings in the BIOS and also corsair link so you would have to go in there and adjust it to suit what you are looking for.

I do not like using the fan headers on the CPU blocks and would recommend you use the CPU OPT fan header or any other PWM fan header on the MOBO with a fan splitter running from the MOBO's fan header to the fans.

What seems strange to me and i want one it this i7 7700k CUP you have!?!?!that must be a fast CUP just rams the liquids down your throat.:P

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
