For the life of me I cannot get the default sorting to by name as the default ordering system in nautilus. I have looking in file > prefs and also change come settings in dfcon editor see the screenshots.

does this happen regardless of which folder is opened first?

just when I open to my home folder, every where is is sorted correctly

Try resetting any previous preference by deleting

~/.local/share/gvfs-metadata

then try gsettings again

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

still the same :/ it's just that first folder that does it :/ 

 

Changed the settings when in ~/ and they stuck this time :) thanks for the help
