That's not showing all process that are running. The RAM usage you've displayed does not add up to 16GB used. Something is eating up your RAM but the question remains "What ?".

the OP didn't say they had 16GB of RAM they said were thinking they might need to get 16GB

also if I upgrade my Ram to 16GB using the same modules will this stop the lag.

that being said considering the biggest RAM usage there is 81MBs you have a hell of alot of background processes.

A) how much RAM do you have at the moment (as windows uses about 2GB to run (cause windows) so if you have 4GB that would be normal)

B) If you have 4 or 8GB of RAM upgrading your RAM to 16GB will help with the lag yes, but if you have 8GB try a fresh install as you will have a hell of a lot of bloatware there. Unless you have open countless tabs in chrome over countless browsers, if that's the case that's the problem

Guys I need some help here. I use my computer religiously, however, I have discovered that on good days my ram is perfect, but like today and previous days, the Ram is pegged at near full capacity of usage. I need help. I have no idea what is pegging my ram to cause such lag on bootup and during application start up. also if I upgrade my Ram to 16GB using the same modules will this stop the lag.
