I'll try to make this as short as possible.

I have a surfboard arris SB6141 only 5 months old. I had a netgear router wn2400 or some old one that was a few years old. Internet on wireless became crap, and didn't really experience wired issues much so I bought a new (like few weeks old) netgear R6220 (https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R6220.aspx) brand new at best buy. I have a ccent and I can't figure this crap out. Nothing really out of the ordinary, except wifi speeds drop occasionally (okay whatever I have my pc hooked up wired anyways)

A week ago my modem had a T3 timeout (not a big deal still because it was once.) and my internet wired through the router has occasionally been sluggish, dropping to like 2 mbps sometimes even lower. This has only happened in the past month.

So I  hooked my pc up to my modem today, and I've had no slow downs, nothing bad happened. So what's going on exactly? I just bought a new router and I replaced the old one. Maybe I should wait longer and see if my modem slows down? I'm confused on if it's a line issue, ISP issue, modem issue or router issue. It doesn't make much sense to me.

WiFi speeds are phenomenal when no slow down is occurring. This 8 hour google ping cmd I've been having run had no reponses higher than 20 ms, and I've been starring at it for about 6 out of those 8 hours while doing multitasking on my pc. (this is my pc directly connected into the modem.) so I don't think it's a modem issue, but at the same time it could just be my timing.

I called TWC (my isp) and asked about it and they said they saw I had a t3 time out today (even though it doesn't show in my modem logs?) and said it was probably a line issue.

Please help :(

I get T3 issues all the time. Normally they are ok as long as they aint excessive. If you go to 192.168.100.1 to check you signal levels, you can compare them here: https://www.dslreports.com/faq/5862, if all looks good, then I doubt its a line issue.

What I would try to do, is update the firmware on your router. Some times where you get routers running like shit and nice good old firmware update can get them running smooth again. You might also consider resetting your router, just to see if you can clear it out. But if the internet works fine with a direct connection to the modem then it has to be an issue with your router.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Id buy a new router. Because it sounds like the software on the one you have sucks. I just saw how much best buy had that router for. Id go with the TP Link Archer C7, its in about the same price range as what you got. Or, you can wait to see if they release a new firmware that fixes the issue.
