Amp under $50?

I just bought HE-350's and I am pretty happy with them... Except my computer can't even come close to powering them. Is there a cheap amp I can buy to power these things? Or do I have to go for $100 amps and DACs?

Have you tried turning up the volume? What's your motherboard?

And you have all volume controls at 100% and it still isn't loud enough? Have you tried both the front and rear audio I/O?

Okay, just checking some possibilities. I would advise just getting an Asus xonar or something like that, which has a built-in headphone amplifier. Most sub-$50 soundcards and amplifiers are not very good and/or are intended for mobile use and lack the controls for easy desktop use.

I agree with SSL here. 

 

I have the Asus Xonar and HD 650s. The volume definitely can be amplified which was nice, but it didn't work for me exactly. It did change the volume up and was great at doing so. 

 

Few days ago I was searching for an amplifier and I got the vali 2. I went about as cheap as I felt safe at around $165 or so. This works great if you do come by the money for a Vali 2 or one that isn't so cheap. 

 

I recommend getting the Asus Xonar as SSL has said first.

I don't know personally on the Magni 2. You'd have to wait for someone else knows a little more about the Magni 2.

Better off getting a Fulla 2 instead, complete package versus just an amp.
