Need help for finding a new mechanical keyboard
my primary use will be for working not gaming. I won't be typing a lot also.
Any switch type will do just fine.
Budget; 200$ but if 400$ suit exactly what i need then it's a go.

Primary requirement
- long left shift botton
- 1-piece spacbar botton (cougar 700k is not acceptable)
- Big L-shape enter botton
- Extra macro buttons

Secondary requirement
- long back space botton
- media buttons

I do not need the backlight, RGB , those kind of that stuff. the light will be turn off anyway.

The exact layout that I would like to have is the layout in Steelseries 6gv2.

I would actually buy this one but it is out of stocks now.

Software requirement
- the keyboard's software must work with razer synapse. they must not conflict with each other
- can create many profiles.
I have about 18 work-related profiles for my razer naga.
- can assign quick profile switch to any key.

- Record macro on the fly

From what I found

Corsair k95
this one looks really good with 18-extra macro keys
however, it lacks the big enter botton. And I looked around and
it seems that the corsair CUE software cannot work alongside with the razer synapse.
Please help me confirm this.

tt esport meka g-unit
Everything looks perfect to me except that, I heard the software comes with
a indestructible bug. Pretty much that You just can't install the software
which make the extra macro keys become useless.
it can only have 3 profiles, TBH it's not be enough for me.
The software seem like it can not do anything complicated either.

Are there any other keyboards out there that might fit my need.?
Any suggestion?

Thank you

Razer synapse is proprietary software, only devices RAZER wants will work with RAZER synapse, and god knows they're not gonna allow a corsair keyboard to work with their stuff

Nothing works with razer synapse except razer products, im not sure what you're trying to achieve here. a Non gaming keyboard with gaming features?

The only big enter button layouts you're going to get is ISO layout which limits your choices even more

Ya I highly doubt anything other than razer will work with razer software.

I have a K95 and its pretty sweet. You could technically reassign the right shift key to also be a second enter key so that you can slap either key and it will do the same thing. It also has option to change between 3 profiles (using buttons) with different configs, and even more profiles if using the software.

What i mean is the keyboard's software must not conflict with the razer software.

I have google around and found out that the corsair CUE cannot work with razer synapse.

I wonder if this issue has been fixed or not

About enter button

can I somehow replaced the keycap with the big enter one

like the one from 3d.printing

thank you

CUE does work with razer synapse though..

I used to use a razer mouse and corsair keyboard and no problems.

Hello hatecrew!

Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum

I bought the Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum a while ago.

Although it does not have the "normal" Cherry MX switches most people are used to.

They instead use romer-g switches from Omron. My personal opinion is that romer-g switches do feel mushy and does not have that same satisfying clicky sound like the more "common" switches. It's always good with more innovation, new creative ideas on how to make keyboards and in this case a new kind of mechanical switch, but these ones does not fit me at all.

If you compare these (romer-g switches) to the more "common" Cherry MX and indeed Razer's Kailh switches, the difference is actually noticeable, in fact I would go as far as to say the difference is extremly noticable, especially to the feel and sound. It all comes down to personal taste though, some like them, some do not.

Even though I'm not a fan of these types of switches, the romer-g switches work just fine for gaming and typing.

The RGB on the G810 Orion Spectrum is actually very good, and it comes with Logitech's Gaming Software, so you can customize the RGB lighting.

And the easy-access media controls is also a nice touch.

Overall this is a good keyboard, there are plenty of reviews on YouTube that you can check out for more in depth detail on it. Its retail cost sits around 160$ but I guess the price can vary depending on where you get it, so it should fit your budget. Please take my small ranting with a grain of salt. The only thing that I personaly did not like about it was the mechanical switches. I've used Cherry MX switches for so many years that I guess I've gotten used to them and find it hard to switch to anything different.

I can provide with a link to logitech's website, so you can check it out.

Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum

The Logitech's G910 Orion Spectrum on the other hand is actually very good.

For some strange reason it does not have the same mushy feeling whilst typing and gaming even though it also makes use of the romer-g switches.

It has a familiar sound and feeling to Cherry MX switches, which is kind of strange I know. This one actually comes with slightly different features than the G810.

The Integrated Arx Control for example, allows you to use your smart phone or tablet to display in-game information and vital system statistics.

The keyboard also comes with a smart dock that supports iOS and Android devices. The G910 also comes with dedicated media controls as well as 9 customizable g-keys.

Extremly useful for gaming. I can provide links to logitech's website, so you can check it out. Its for sale right now for 140$ retail price sits on 180$

Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

The Corsair K70 RGB however, is actually very, very good. I believe Linus did a Review on this one on LTT a while ago.

I had the pleasure to try this keyboard myself whilst visiting one of my friends. There is not much to say about this one.

Check out Linus review on it. It's currently sits on 170$.

Link to Linus video on the K70 -

I ordered the V0rtex POK3R PBT Mechanical Keyboard a few days go. Its about 60% of a standard size keyboard, which suits me just fine, it gives me more room for my mouse. And it's suppose to be more ergonomic. I will try this one out for a few months and see if it eventually will replace my current keyboard the G810.

I hope this information helped some.

Hope you find a new keyboard that suits your needs!

Yeah no, logitech stems break after a few weeks of use and cause the keys to stick, just like the apex boards from steelseries. Avoid like rape.

Oh, I've never heard this before. I guess I was lucky then. I've been using my G810 for a few months now, and it works like a charm.

As I said before, I do not like the romer-g switches and I will change keyboard when I get the V0rtex POK3R mechanical keyboard.

I'm sorry to hear that your experience with Logitech has been dissatisfactory.
