Hey guys, I'm new here and have a question about my GTX 660.

It was bought brand new about 2 months ago and since I first fitted it, it has performed very badly, I'm talking only about 30 FPS on Battlefield 3's LOWEST pre-set. I tried the card out in a friends system however and the card hits 80+ FPS on Battlefields Ultra pre-set.

Now I have a feeling that it's actually a bottleneck that is the problem as I only have a dual core CPU running at 4Ghz (Friend has 8 core running at 4Ghz)

I do plan on upgrading my CPU very soon (saving the cash :P) I just want your opinion, do you think it's a bottleneck restricting the performance of my card or is there something else going on here?

Willing to provide further information upon request :)

Thanks in advance guys!

Going to need more information on your platform. "Dual-core CPU" doesn't say much.

Here's a cut from a DXDiag run, hope this helps :)

It's your CPU. Make sure you actually have graphics drivers installed too. Without trying to sound condescending there's a reason why some CPU's are $40 and others are $250.

The graphic drivers are all working well, and I suspected so, don't worry about being condescending :P I bought it as part of a CPU + Mobo Bundle and I plan on upgrading both of those within the next 2 - 3 months, I just wanted clarification, thanks a lot buddy :)

To be as future proof as possible, try to save/spend as much as you're comfortable with. You'll benefit in the long run.
