I was thinking about getting 2 Intel Xeon E5-1620 and putting them on a Dell Precision T5600 Motherboard. I wanted to use this for gaming and streaming but i cam across a couple problem 1 being will i be able to overclock it to around 4.0 ghz and the next being what would be a good cooler for this that i don't have to break the bank and buy 2 of. Any help i can get will really make me happy.

No, you can't overclock them, and you'd need a pretty good cooler (at least two Hyper212's) for the chips, they will pretty poor at gaming however,

My dual Xeon server is using Coolermaster 212 EVO's with Noctua NF-F12 fans. Keeps both chips under 55°C during full load. They're Xeon E5 2670's

wait, the E5-1620 doesn't support dual socket setups I think, intel lists it as not supported.

I use a shit ton of servers, this is something that happens a lot, between "why won't these two Xeons not work" (usually like this, it was disabled, or they're not a matched pair, it does my head in) and the slightly more common "why does my Xeon not have hyperthreading" (which is usually the bottom of the SKU is basically an i5, and that too is annoying having to explain that the cheap mass available Xeons are garbage and have no hyperthreading)

i just want a cheap computer with 8 cores and around 4.0 ghz that can be used for gaimgn and streaming idc if i need to buy 1 expensive cpu or 2 55 buck cpu's aslong as it works xD

I reckon a ryzen 1700 will outperform an old xeon. But old servers can be a real bargain. I had one years ago, it lasted about a year before one of the PSUs blew and took out the motherboard. It had so many 6000rpm fans it sounded like a airplane taking off.

Only way you'll get the performance you want WITH 8 cores for cheap(er) would be AMD's lineup. Servers are more application specific and won't really do what you want them to.

Wait so let me get this straight.your gonna spend 100 on a CPU and probaly at least 500 on a mobo.the mainstream rog ones are like 300 much less the dual socket server ones
