Samsung Gains Approval for Testing Self Driving Car

Following the appearance of Apple's self-driving car tech in California, it is now being reported that Samsung has gained permission to test it's own version in South Korea. 

 

They will apparently be using a kitted out Hyundai, making it an all-Korean project. 

 

Still not fully sure if I trust this kind of thing or not - had a few near misses just using Ford's self parking system.

Seriously though, this is getting rather silly now. Unless the governments start to step in and force some industry wide standards to ensure all these different systems can actually talk to each other we're gonna end up with a billion self driving cars and zero interoperability between them.

 

I genuinely wouldn't be shocked if I heard Nintendo were planning to make self driving cars with the Switch as a remote control unit, it seems like everyone else is doing it.
