4k gaming

apaar123

Do you prefer a fps game on a 4k 60hz monitor or a 1080/1440p 144hz or more monitor. Also does 4k have a large effect in fps games and are games other than fps genre, are they good enough in 60hz? And what happens if on a gsync 60hz monitor your fps crosses more than 60hz?

i prefer 1440p 144hz over 4k. the jump from 1080 to 1440p is more significant then the jump from 1440p to 4k imo.

1440p 144Hz for FPS but campaign games 60hz is fine or you can just get Acer or ASUSes new 4K 144hz for $2,000 when they come out around Q3

Depends on what you play.

For first person shooters, 1440p 144hz

For most other games like open world or racing for example, 4k 60hz

I probably should go back to my 60Hz panel for a bit, but I'm still convinced I don't really notice anything enough to care. Most of my issues seem to stem from response time induced motion blur.

4K has a large impact in performance. And I'd argue anything that doesn't require twitch reflexes is fine at 60 Hz.

G-SYNC no longer kicks in. G-SYNC only works if the frame rate is lower than the refresh rate.

At that point, you should use Fast Sync. In fact, you should always have Fast Sync enabled if you have a GeForce 900 or 10 card.

I prefer ultrawide 1440p at 100hz above all alternatives.
