Bought a new SSD (Samsung 960Evo NVME 500GB) and want to make this my boot drive rather than my old Corsair LS 120GB Sata3 SSD. I have copied all files over using a migration software but windows and bios still treat the old SSD as the boot drive and wont use the new one. I have tried formatting the old SSD and have had no luck with that either.

Please help :(

Did you change the boot priority? What happens if you try to force it to boot off the new SSD, it defaults to the old one? Did you make sure to enable NVME in the bios? What happens if you unplug the old SSD?

What software? I like Partition Wizard from MiniTool. After cloning the drive, remove the old drive and confirm that the PC can boot to the new one, might need to be set in the bios. Once it boots, you can put the old drive back in and format it

Changed boot priority and disabled the old SSD, but asus still has it listed as the "if all else fails" option and wont let me change it. Tried forcing a boot from the new drive but nothing happened.

Using EaseUS Todo for migrating purposes.

Unplug all of your drives but leave your 950 EVO in there. If it doesn't work, then maybe you did something wrong when cloning your boot drive.

Check your partitions. Most likely you left out your EFI boot partition.
