VLC misbehaving.

Recently upgraded my PC and as usual i copied 50 or so of my favourite movies from the HDD that's connected to my TV over to my PC's mechanical drive that i use for mass storage.  For some strange reason when i watch movies now from the new PC they often lock up at around 1 hour 33 min or 1 hour 34 mins, i thought that perhaps it was something to do with the mechanical drive so i moved a movie that i knew was behaving in this way over to my SSD and it did the same thing.  The only thing i can think of that maybe its the new version of VLC that i downloaded, has anyone else ever encountered this odd behaviour? 

 

Just for clarity i have all of the movies on my shelf in their retail boxes, i just store them on the HDD connected to my android TV device to watch them using Kodi without needing to dig through my physical collection all the time.  The files are my own and work perfectly well on my TV and worked perfectly well on my old PC too, its all very strange lol
