Just built a brand new PC, with the exception being that I'm reusing my old power supply that I've had for about 2 years now. It's the EVGA SuperNova G2 750w. Firstly, for the last little while before I built this new computer my power supply had suddenly gotten unusually loud. Quite a mix of noises, from electrical to bit of a grinding almost sound. Now I have it set up in my new build, the noise continues but now I'm having additional problems. Every time I power on or off the system the power supply makes an extremely loud click sound. Now for the most problematic part, the computer is turning on and then after a few seconds powering itself back off, then back on, then back off...and so on infinitely until I shut it down myself. I've made it to the BIOS twice only, every other time it's been doing this.

The specs are as follows:

RMA the PSU. EVGA has something like a 10-year warranty on the G2 power supplies.

Indeed, it is a 10 year warranty. Is the powering on and off due to the PSU or possibly something else? What do you think?

I'll RMA it regardless though; any idea how long it typically takes to receive a replacement from EVGA?

Thanks for the help thus far!

EVGA is typically pretty quick, but I'd plan on being without a PSU for two weeks or so. A computer rapidly power-cycling is, in my experience, a pretty clear symptom of a defective/dying PSU.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

I gave it a little bit and tried powering it on again. Since then, haven't has any more cycling on and off. Clicking and other noises are still coming from the PSU though, will definitely RMA. Thanks.
