hey guys,

so i got this idea im about to implement next week and thought id share it with you for maybe you have some ideas or help with problems later on.

basically im mounting a display in my side panel and since i dont want to allocate extra horse power for it im not gonna connect it to the main rig. instead im gonna run a raspberry pi with it.

now for the tricky part im gonna attempt to connect pi and pc via usb and create a virtual network.

im gonna send systemdata through it like temps, load, activity basically whatever i fancy.

then im gonna display that in on the sidepanel of my case in some hopefully really creativly animated way using monogame.

first thing though is gonna be creating the network.

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

GPU: MSI GTX1080 Ti Aero @ 2 GHz (watercooled) CPU: Ryzen 5600X (watercooled) RAM: 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair LPX MB: Gigabyte B550i PSU: Corsair SF750 Case: Hyte Revolt 3

very possibly so yes. but im not sure wether to with usb host-to-host cable or just get a usb network adapter and hook up the pi that way all i know is im not using wifi and im not giving up my ethernet port on the main rig so some form of direct network is gonna happen

Ethernet port on pi cannot go to the router or switch? Or get a cheap pcie Ethernet card.

well i want this connection to also work on the go where theres no router. so it has to be pc directly to pi but i guess this could also be an easy solution to that instead of writing my on network drivers and what not.
