So i just switch my ryzen 5 from a 

Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4 to a 62 degrees under load

B350 TOMAHAWK 83 degrees under load

 

same hyper 212 evo cooler

 

the stress test temps are 20 degrees higher. is this the 20+ thing that possibly the msi board has rot received an update for?

First thing I'd check is that your BIOS settings are correct. If the new board is using a much higher core voltage, that could substantially increase temperatures.

 

It's the same cooler, but swapping motherboards would've required removing and replacing it. Are you sure you reinstalled it correctly? Did you clean off the CPU surface well and apply new thermal compound? Are you sure it's attached as tightly as it's supposed to be?

 

Edit: When you say "under load," you mean exactly the same load, right? What are you using to test?

I an under the same settings that the previous motherboard was. 3.8 ghz @1.35v

 

Used water and a microfiber cloth to clean the cooler like i do always. 

 

Hyper 212 evo with arctic silver 5 

 

it might not be super tight I will check

 

LOAD being the cpu-z stress test thing
