Hey everyone,

So I haven't really found much on Co-Optimus, so I'm asking for a little help. I'm a father, who has a son, and we like to play games together. Mostly Lego, since that is really the only local split screen PC franchise I can find. Plus they are fun. But my son is really into NFS. He likes Most Wanted, but I'm planning on picking up something new. It's cheaper to buy a full version of a newer game than to get the DLC for the older game (he wants the airport...). Anyways, Most Wanted doesn't support split screen co-op. Do you guys know of anything that does for PC? My son is 7, so he's more of a fan of the open world driving since he doesn't quite have the physics understanding for racing games (I've tried Dirt, Gran Turismo (Yes on PS3), etc..). Do any of the newer NFS support split screen? I see Fast and the Furious does, but it looks rather cheesy (just like the movies), but again, were looking for something that is open world split screen. (I mean, NFS Rivals sounds like it should, but I don't see anything for PC split screen).

So again, any suggestions for PC Master Race would be awesome.

Same here. Most fun games on PC don't support split screen. Do you have a second computer? You could put a decent GPU in it, then hook them up on LAN, and play that way. Or else you're stuck with a console.

My current setup is Ryzen 1700x with RX480 in C.F.. My other PC is FX 6350 with R9 380 and my laptop with i7 6700 and 1060.

So I'm good on that part. But for LAN, I thought I'd still have to purchase two copies of the game.

Which games support LAN?

I'd look for a title you like, then Google whether it supports LAN and how to set it up. And you'll need two copies of the game, unless it lets you install and use it on more than one computer.

It looks like many would need two copies since I cannot use the same Steam or Origin account  on the two computers at the same time, even in LAN. Have you tried this or have any experience in this? Maintaining two accounts for a simple LAN game would really be inconvenient.

I've set up LAN on a couple PS2's for Battlefront, but that's about all.

Unfortunately you would have to do a search for any split screen games. From my experience there is a limited supply, developers are putting more effort into online multiplayer Vs LAN. There are a few LAN co-op games on steam, just verify that they are indeed local LAN capable games.

I am sure there is more, but here are a couple

gas guzzlers extreme (arcade shooting and racing)

flatout 2 (older arcade style)

dirt 3 (slightly more difficult, no longer on steam?)

Sonic racing transformed (cart racer split screen)

there are also a few racing games that are more difficult because while they arent simulators they are much closer.

I would also wait for the steam summer sale if you are worried about buying two copies.

Forgot about summer sale,  thanks!
