why not consider nvidia grid.

or just take your pc with you.. everyone i know who went to uni back in the day decided not to take their pcs.. after their 1st break... they came back and got it!

Network constraints and compression would be a big issue for most networks.

also mos colleges in the UK basically block all gaming ports as it is! i have a colleguee at work who cant even play his xbox online!

btw use wol to open your pc when you need it (wake it up. even if its shut down). i did it my self and its the easiest think ever. just put it a static ip and then port foreword it with your router. (be sure to enable wal from bios) and make a profile on a wol app from your phone and put your external ip (to find it write in google ''whats my ip'' (make sure to be on the network you wont to show you the external ip))

then just put your external ip in the app followed by '':(your port that you forwarded it)''

No. The lag would be WAY to much with present technology to accomplish this. The only way to handle this would be with massive compression and realtime transcoding like that would take a pretty good chunk of power even then your going to have twitch like lag which can be a lot. 

 

I hear pied piper is looking at creating a new internet with middle out compression... perhaps after that hits the market this would be much more viable?
