If you'd like my life's story, read below.

Looking for more suggestions for improvements on my future build. My budget is around $2,000 with a new monitor. This setup will be for 3D rendering, 1080p/1440p gaming, and video editing. I'll be building in July and I'm trying to get everything finalized apart from the gpu for the most part (since vega has yet to be released). I like to plan and research ahead of time, and to be honest I'm probably doing this a bit early. The build I've started would be for 1080p at 144hz, no monitor yet. If I can fit a setup for 144hz at 1440p under at most $2,100, I'd be happy and be willing to go above budget slightly. I already have a 60hz IPS monitor, so I don't care if this new monitor is TN or IPS since I'd be doing video editing on my other monitor. The closed loop liquid cooler is there because I like how they look. Air coolers are too bulky in my opinion.

Monitor has freesync too.

You have $600 left for a random Vega GPU of your choice :)

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Corsair H75 is trash, total waste of money. H100i is WAAYY overkill for Ryzen. Went with Asrock for the motherboard because they've been solid with their AM4 offerings and they've been on top of BIOS updates, etc etc, more so than Asus. Get the Asus board if you prefer though, even though it's uglier. I wouldn't spend an extra $25 for an 850 EVO over the MX300. GTX 1080 is really going to be beneficial for 1440p 144Hz but you can get a GTX 1070 if you want to save some money. I went with a 1080 that has a backplate though, really helps aesthetics. Also, keep in mind that the GTX 1080 comes with a free game. I also went for a significantly better quality and nicer case, with tempered glass. Don't pay more than $30 for your OS, there are several places you can get your OS for <$30.
