Just a quick list to stop people from asking "what GPU should I get for X resolution. Basing this off the newest games out right now so if you play older games or not at ultra settings you can go with either the lower option. All resolutions and suggestions are made with a single monitor in mind.

Resolutions lower then 1080p or non intense games (tf2 or CS) or really old games (like ES oblivion) : 1050-1050ti

1080p 60hz: 1060 6gb

1080p 144hz: 1070-1080 depending on the game

1080x2560p 60hz: 1070

1080x2560 144-200hz: 1070-1080ti depends on game and settings of course

1440p 60hz: 1070-1080

1440p 144hz: 1080-1080ti

1440x3440 60hz: 1070-1080

1440x3440 100+hz: 1080-1080ti

4k 60hz: 1080-1080ti

4k 60+hz (believe Asus is making this): 1080ti sli.

For AMD users just use what ever card is equal to the Nvidia ones I put on here.

Also this is list ment as a general guide that not as a strict rule for all people in all situations and I encourage people to post possible cards for more detailed situations below.(such as in game X for X resolution what X GPU do I need for X fps)

CPU: 6700K Case: Corsair Air 740 CPU Cooler: H110i GTX Storage: 2x250gb SSD 960gb SSD PSU: Corsair 1200watt GPU: EVGA 1080ti FTW3 RAM: 16gb DDR4

Other Stuffs: Red sleeved cables, White LED lighting 2 noctua fans on cpu cooler and Be Quiet PWM fans on case.

Honestly, I don't see why people tie cards to specific resolutions. Sure, that's the optimal way to do it (at least regarding ultra settings), but something like the 1060 can push many titles at 2160p60 while sacrificing not much in the way of visual fidelity.

Then again I'm the guy who'd buy something like a Fury X or a 1080 to drive games at 1360x768, so meh.

I'd put all 3 on 1080p 60hz but say the 1060 would do the best.

Just edit for it. This list is a work in progress I quickly put together. And only encompasses a single display scinario.
