I have been looking for a gaming laptop for quite some while now. I found an Alienware with i7 6700 hq upto 3.5 GHz(gtx1060) for about $1550 on Amazon but dell.com only has one with 7700hq for about $1800 and it is about $1750 on amazon. All other components are same. Is it worth buying 7700hq for +$200 ?? And will it slow my day to day use ??

My uses are :

Playing games??

All types from high cpu usage ones like besiege to high graphics ones like witcher 3

College work

I am in IT first year and I will get some work from college mostly base level coding which I was doing on an amd athlon X2 with no gpu until now and it was not slow.

I also use virtual machines to quite a extent and have some video editing and Photoshop as well

Also I found Asus ROG strix gl502 the gtx 1070 version for $1570. It says battery life is really low. I need around 4 hrs of normal use . The ROG has more upgradeblity as it comes with a 256gb m.2 ssd and a 7200 rph 1 TB HDD . Except that it has additional 3 m.2 slots but it does not have a thunderbolt port.

What do you recommend??

Also just saw I could even get gtx 1070 for $1700 is i7 is 6700 hq
