I'll be moving in a couple months (ish) and a new apartment means a new network map. Been a year since I've moved into my current apartment and I never got around to getting the network set up properly (mostly due to the fact that it sort of came pre-wired to some extent).

Entry channel will be fiber, going through a physical firewall, then a fiber switch, finally getting to the router, where the mapping will start

Excuse the crude design, I'm currently at work and I can't be bothered to create a diagram online, so I'm sticking to ol' Notepad

Router------ PC1 -)) B))
     |
     |
     |------ IPTV
     |
     |
     |------ Reserved 3 (PS3) -)) B))

     |====== Phoenix -)) B))

                    |
		    |
		    |----- Meraki -))
		    |
		    |----- Sapphire -)) B))

		    |----- Open 4
		    |
		    |----- Open 5
		    |
		    |----- Open 6
		    |
		    |----- Reserved 7 (PS3) -)) B))
		    |
*----- Reserved 8 from router to switch

Legend:

| and - wired connection

-)) Wi-Fi enabled device

B)) Bluetooth enabled device

= redundant connection

As of yet, I am unsure of the router's model (I assume it will be the same Huawei router the ISP provided me)

The redundancy for Phoenix will probably be just two cables that I can swap between (since I won't have a 5th gigabit port available on the router) or it will be a dedicated line from the switch (the one between the firewall and the router)

The SW_8_100 is an 8 port 10/100 switch (currently out of 8 port gigabit switches which is a major bummer, but I can manage even on 10/100). This will be upgraded at a later time to a 10/100/1000 as the need arises.

The 3 open ports on the switch should be enough in case of LAN party or if I have any build in progress or up for maintenance/servicing.

Have I missed anything or is there anything that I should (re)consider?

Looks good to me.

What model Meraki AP do you have? (Just curious)

HA! First person outside my office that knows what Meraki is.

It's not an AP, it's a multi-purpose server that I named Meraki since it used to be a FreeNAS box.
