Backup error

i have been using windows 7 backup (i am running win 10) luckly i havent needed to use it but everytime it runs i get this message at the end. and the drive i am backing up to a 1TB drive.

Just a basic question but there is enough free space on the disk?

And there aren't any quota's present on the 1TB drive?

It is possible that you have a quota setup.

Have you tried formatting the drive completely?

If that isn't the case try to setup Windows Back-Up from scratch try if this solved the problem.

i formated it to clear all the garbage from it. i am going to re-reformat it again.

i just did a 16k format ntfs and started a new backup. will get back when it finishes backing up

crap forgot to come back about 2 hours ago. but its still happening

It looks like a configuration issue.

Have you tried to setup the job from scratch?

yes. in fact the main drive is about 200GB and it seems that it backs up everything and still errors out.

That is really strange.

Have you tried a different HDD does this give the same result?

it used to be on the other half of the partition 256GB to be precise. same settings same problem

Then it looks like a different issue on the machine itself.

Have you also tried a different program for back-up if this gives the same results?

if anything i could do a manual backup. i find it more reliable. in fact i have done it everytime i have had to reinstall.

It must be an issue on the device but i have never used Windows Back-up so I can't really help you with it.

You can try a different back-up program maybe that will solve your issue and makes it possible to make back-ups automatically.

i have acronis so i dont really care.
