Is the rx580 amds best card out right now

well it's the best from the RX range, but the R9 Fury X is a bit faster in most cases, not that I'd say you should get one. Technically the Radeon Pro Duo would be the absolute best card they have out.

yeah but the pro duo is the same price like the 1080ti (at least close) which has a performance benefit, so its not exactly worth to buy.

Indeed, I thought it wasn't needed to repeat that, but I do want a Radeon Pro Duo, I wouldn't advise it for gaming, dual GPU cards make my HWbot boner bigger, and dat compute performance tho.

it does quite well in 4k gaming.

Technically it is AMDs fastest single card, but it's a dual GPU card. You'll only see roughly half it's potential performance in scenarios that don't support crossfire. In theses situations it should be pretty much equal to a fury x (pro duo is 2 r9 nano GPUs on one PCB so it should perform very similar to a fury x since the card is cooled properly when crossfire isn't supported).

CPU: i7 4790k @ 4.7 GHz

GPU: XFX GTS RX580 4GB

Cooling: Corsair h100i

Mobo: Asus z97-A

RAM: 4x8 GB 1600 MHz Corsair Vengence

PSU: Corsair HX850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite Tempered glass edition

Display: LG 29UM68-P

Keyboard: Roccat Ryos MK FX RGB

Mouse: Logitech g900 Chaos Spectrum

Headphones: Sennheiser HD6XX

OS: Windows 10 Home

I think the GTX 1080ti would probably do a little better in all respects, but I'd like to see actual benchmarks, I bet they're closer than anybody thinks as long as the game has good crossfire support.

All R9 fury cards use the same Fiji core, the R9 nano, R9 Fury and R9 Fury X, they bin them a little differently but the Pro Duo has better chips than a Fury X

edit: All synthetic benchmarks have very good crossfire support and the compute performance is massive, 16 TFLOPS
