Hello, I am using a WatchGuard x500 as a pfSense router. I have that device behind a ATT NVG599 I think it's called. I want to get an Open or Moderate Nat for games and other ports. When I try to port forward both, nothing changes. I have tried disabling all outbound NAT rules and when I do that some internet services stop working. I have heard of bridge mode on the ATT combo unit but DirecTV is plugged into the ATT and I don't want to run another cable back to my switches.

Thanks,

Matthew

As long as the NVG599 is in Router mode (not bridge mode) then you have to forward your ports twice - once from the NVG599  to the PFSense router, and again from the PFSense router to the devices. This is because in router mode the NVG599 is also running NAT.
