So can I go with 1500x?

Go ahead.

All CPUs can overheat.... Intel CPUs can overheat as well, not just AMD.

From what I have heard about Ryzen processors, the only downside is the RAM limitations (Max on RAM Speed).

I have an FX 8350 which on 'full load' runs at 53*C using a Stock cooler.

I would say go for the 1500x, R5's are ideal for gamers (That is what I have read)

To say "all AMD processors run hot" is unfair. They've had their "hot" CPUs but it doesn't mean all their CPUs are thermonuclear bombs.

Like early BIOS revisions don't support RAM with high frequency (3200MHz+) so you need to keep that in mind that it might not work right away at its full speed. That's not a big issue tbh - update your BIOS after a month or two and then turn on XMP. MSI and ASRock have the best RAM compatibility AFAIK at the moment.

Meaning it is currently tricky to go above 3600 on the RAM speed. Micro code updates are required from AMD for this, due around May.

7/10 on the top 10 are achieved by the Asus ROG Crosshair. 0 by MSI. MSI is also having pretty bad bios issues atm, please be careful recommending this to users...

Depends on which processor you're talking about, and what cooler you use.

Their new Ryzen chips run at reasonable temperatures even with their stock cooler (which is pretty good).

By the way, since people are talking about RAM, I have had lots of issues with RAM in my Ryzen build. One of my RAM sticks were bad (not AMD's fault) so in the meantime I tried using my friend's RAM, and my computer refused to boot with that.

So I would recommend you look at the list of compatible RAM before ordering anything. If it's not on the list then it might not actually boot at all (not like on Intel where everything just werks).

(and this is with the latest BIOS for the Gigabyte Gaming 5 motherboard).

Ryzen 1500x supports ddr4 RAM's ,right?

I skimmed the article yes you can achieve 3600 atm with the right timings but until the micro code is improved by amd its not like just choosing 3600 from a drop down list of profiles. Level1techs have a good video explaining how to do it.

Yes though imo I'd go for the 1600 if its not too far out of budget? 6c/12t will serve you better long term.

Sad to hear that :/ Check your ram serial numbers here in future before purchase

This is what I meant, MSI has resolved their memory issues:

http://hexus.net/tech/news/mainboard/103786-msi-intros-a-xmp-memory-profiles-am4-motherboards/

They introduced a feature called "A-XMP" which is a Ryzen-optimized XMP.

Yup, you can OC it as well on B350 and X370 series motherboards, however I suggest you consider spending more and getting the R5 1600. It's worth it.

Correct. AMD's last generations of processors did not, so people that used the Bulldozers were stuck with DDR3 and PCIE 2.0 Generation.

Yeah I have that too on my crosshair its just called D.O.C.P (whatever that stands for :p) its basically like selecting an xmp profile. my point was more centred around you only recommending the Asrock and Msi despite Asus having better results than both :P

I've heard that ASUS ROG boards had many BIOS issues at launch, when AMD sent them to reviewers along with R7-series CPUs there were many problems with platform configuration so I'm not recommending them yet. I know ASUS always had quality motherboards, especially for AMD so I'm patiently waiting... For now the best overall recommendation for Ryzen still remains the X370 Taichi from ASRock in my books...

I agree the 1st bios could brick a board but to be fair that was fixed near immediately and the boards now ship with 0902 (not the lastest but the 1st stable bios) and there have been 5-6 bios updates since then. I'm now on beta bios 0082 (wtf naming structure I know) with the latest AGESA micro code from AMD and its really solid.
