Hai, so, I've been thinking to upgrade once again, I never went with any of the new Lake from Intel, since I was waiting for Ryzen now aswell.

After watching some of the videos of how they work and compare against the Intel core made me unsure, still struggling to chose which I want, I want to support AMD for their new CPU but I also and still do like the Kaby Lake and how it performs!

I want tu upgrade from mid to high end PC, to be able to stream and video edit and all that, my current 3570k can no longer handle such sadly! :(

So Mobo and CPU (Ram) will be my first upgrade! Ryzen will cost me more due to the expensive price for the 1700X or the 1800X but I guess that the 1800X is just to spend extra monies to support the AMD company.

Both upgrades ends up around 1000 Euros (Depending if I add watercooler or keeping my Noctua).

if you're thinking of streaming or video editing, Ryzen is the CPU for you.
the 1700 is the "value 8-core" CPU right now, and overclocked, it's almost as good as an 1800X.

spending more for an 1800X is only good if you really want the best OC'ed CPU speed (probably 100-200 Mhz faster than the 1700 OC'ed) or bragging rights. (or donating to AMD... I guess?)

Yeah, that was my thought to pay that extra 100 euros for the 1800X to support AMD, but most show that the i7 7700K preforms better in gaming but.. Eh, I don't know! >.<

the 7700K is the best in gaming

but Ryzen is good too.

basically, intel gets the highest framerates, but Ryzen doesn't get bad framerates either

it's good enough by a mile, just not the best.

plus, Ryzen gets higher minimums sometimes.

The 7700k is better in games if you are not streaming or recording using the CPU. If you do, then overclocked R7 1700 or R5 1600X will do a better job.
