Hey guys, I'm a noob to the forum so I hope I am doing this right lol. Hoping to order around Christmas.

1. Budget & Location

My budget is around €750 ($1000) and I'm in Ireland. I can't really go over that budget.

2. Aim

Mostly gaming and a bit of web browsing. Not very intensive games, Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas & Euro Truck Simulator 2 (If anybody knows that lol).

3. Monitors

Trying to save as much as possible so I will be using my 1366x768 monitor, which means I can use a cheaper GPU and upgrade when I get the money.

4. Peripherals

I have a W7 key so all I need is a budget keyboard and mouse for now. (Will upgrade to gaming k&m in the future)

5. Why are you upgrading?

N/A

This is what I have come up with so far, feedback would be appreciated:

Case: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2

CPU: Intel Core i5 3470

Mobo: ASRock B75 Pro3-m

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb Low-Profile (Black)

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC 2gb

PSU: Corsair CX600M Hybrid Modular

HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB

Wireless Adapter: ASUS PCE-N15

Keyboard & Mouse: Logitech Mk 270

Total cost inc. delivery: €751.50

I really hope I did that right because that took a while...

Get a 3570k instead

I was thinking of that but he'd also have to get a compatible mobo.

Good post

Welcome to the forum, and enjoy your stay

A couple of things :

  • Get a 4670k
  • An LGA 1150 Motherboard
  • Cheaper RAM
  • SSD

I would advise getting the 4670k and motherboard first as they are the hardest to upgrade.

Everything else you can upgrade later, or save up for

I would advise getting a 1080p monitor to have a proper PC experience

Thanks man! I was wondering if there would be a big difference with a 4670k? And obviously an OC compatible motherboard is a bit dearer. And do you know any good cheap RAM? I would love an SSD but I'm on a pretty tight budget

I just wanted to say that I wouldn't get a SSD if I were you. Just save for one in the future.

I personally don't enjoy 9-string guitars, but that doesn't change the fact that they look awesome as hell!

You will get a bit better performance, a good OC board isn't much more. You also don't need to OC straight away.

I would reccomend Kingston HyperX RAM, really good value for money

You could get an 840 Evo later and move your OS onto it

it has like same performance if not worse(cpu must be OC`ed) like the one you did. with yours just get hd7870/r9 270X but the gtx 660 is very good too(just a liltle behind the 7870) and you get shadowplay
