Input lag/latency when using a USB hub.

I've been trying to find a way to measure input lag on my mouse and keyboard so I can compare the difference between connected directly to the motherboard and connected to a USB hub. When I have the mouse and keyboard connected to the USB hub I really believe I notice the difference but I think it's all in my head because everything I'm reading is the latency added is minimal at best. Can anybody provide some real information about this or a method of testing it that doesn't require wiring up an Arduino or a high speed camera? Free or paid it doesn't matter, I just need something to convince me it's in my head because using a USB hub would be more convenient for me. Thanks!

If it is USB 3.0 then it is known to cause latency issues trough HUB or long cables, not always but it does happen. I use USB 3.0 HUB on my monitor for my keyboard, mouse and controller and I don't notice this issue. I did trough different HUB though.

I have both USB 2.0 and 3.0 hubs, I'll see if I can get my wife to setup a blind test to see if I really do notice it or not. I'd still prefer an actual method of testing it though.
