So in a few months or so i intend to upgrade to this build:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/nrKwZ8

I am happy with the parts, the price and the performance considering i do both gaming and lots of graphical and motion editing.

The only problem is for whatever reason the motherboard (Asus PRIME X370-PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard) is not compatible with the CPU cooler (Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler).

It says on the site "The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the Asus PRIME X370-PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard"

I am very new to PC builds and components and honestly i had no idea there was such a thing as a "mounting adapter" beforehand. If someone could link me to the correct mounting adapter or change the

build so that there are no problems, please keep in mind i DO NOT want water cooling, that would be great!

Thank you.

Mounting kit:

212 Evo is not exactly a nice cooler. I'd get a Cyrorig H7, H5 or R1. They perform much better while having better temps. Also Noctua NH-D14/D15 and Be Quite Dark Rock 3/Dark Rock Pro 3

@deXxterlab97 ok i will change it to the H7 but will that mounting kit work for the H7 too?

no.

coolers from before Ryzen's lauch don't work with Ryzen, so you need to contact the company and have them send you a mounting bracket so the cooler fits onto a Ryzen socket. simple as that.

nearly all coolers need this mounting bracket as stock hasn't been updated yet.

No that mounting kit is for Cooler Master 212 Evo only

You will need this http://www.cryorig.com/getam4.php

So if i buy the cooler, collect proof of purchase and then request an upgrade kit, they will send one to me and it will be compatible?
