Increasing Intel HD dedicated memory

ok so if i turn up the dedicated ram up to 512 it should allocate that much when needed regardless of what windows tells me

No, it should allocate 512MB from boot, and then allocate more if needed. I don't understand why the minimum remained at 128 all the time, but the point is that you control how much you reserve for the GPU with that, not how much it can take in total. Or that's how I understand it ("??? pre-allocated" as far as I can read). Maybe the blurred letters are relevant and it's not about minimum video memory :P

Just try firing up a video-intensive application (a.k.a. game :P) and use something like afterburner to monitor what happens with "VRAM" usage, or any other way to monitor how much RAM your iGPu is taking.

So i cant quite afford my GPU and i am looking for a bit more performance. so i thought in would try to increase my dedicated ram on my igpu for my 6600k but i have had some issues. First of all the may ram i can set in bios is about 500mb but i wanted it up to 2gb. second of all the changes i make in bios dont seem to make any changes in windows.IMG_7348.thumb.JPG.c98ced6a3fe7904f095f8f7aa1ceaf67.JPG58f416f12b92a_2017-04-1618_52_20-Settings.png.94e7bcbe61c9275fc18db5f1078a8e05.png58f416d399a35_2017-04-1619_06_25-DellP2213(Digital-DVI)andIntel(R)HDGraphics530Properties.png.29c983b3a6768493ca89e80110861b11.png

one of the pictures is pre upping the vram from 32mb to 512mb and the other is after. as you can see there is no change at all. also no matter what i set it to it is always at 128mb. I have 8gb 2133 ddr4, intel 6600k and asus z170-a

I don't think that will help you at all or if its possible (especially if you're in your bios, I don't see you editing your bios to make it work)

Throwing 8GB of VRAM on a GT710 is pointless for example, that GPU core will NEVER even come close to be able to process that much texture information, and its extremely unlikely your iGPU would either.

Gaming - Ryzen 9800X3D | 64GB 6400mhz cl30 9070 XT

Homelab - many servers...constantly changing.

3970X/256GB - 5950X/128GB ECC - 5600G/96GB - 3400GE/16GB - 3400GE/16GB

i see what you are saying but 128mb of ram us quite low. the recomended is atleast 1gb with the ammount of ram i have

But that's the dedicated video memory, that is, the minimum it will have (so it can at least display Windows). It will take more when needed, up to some limit that it is able to handle.
