Undervolting RAM

Heeey there humans,

 

okay listen. I love optimizing my PC and playing around with it.
I was bored today and still a bit annoyed at my CPU * so I was thinking about what I could possibly do with my PC. I already OCed my RAM to 2200MHz CL10.11.10.31.1T @1.65V and started lowering voltage to see how far down I can go because Overvolting RAM isn't neccesarily the best thing ever (even though 1.65V are fine most of the time). To my surprise the RAM runs stable at its default 1.5V (Can't get it to run stable at 2400MHz sadly. HCI memtest starts throwing errors as soon as I crank the frequency higher than 2200MHz even with loose timings).

Did any of you ever undervolt RAM? What are your experiences with undervolting RAM and is it even safe?
Yeah it probably is pointless, since pff temps and the W you save from undervolting RAM probably are negligible but hey. In theory it should stress the VRMs less (and potentially the IMC) (which most likely would make no difference to CPU OC stability).

*(That damn i7-4790K won't run stable at 4.7GHz. It runs 4.6GHz at 1.275V but won't run 4.7GHz even at 1.3V! ARRRGH)

you can undervolt ram safetly. with no ill effect, youll have to run it at a slower speed so doing so is a bit pointless.

 

default volate for my mobo wasnt the same as my rams required voltage so it defaulted to 1333mhz untill i changed the voltage.
