So I was getting wierd temps 

68 in one core and 79 on another  set full load, I took the cooler off and reapplied paste under the ihs and then on top of the ihs 

turned pc on, no boot but cpu light is on on my mother board all the fans spinning etc 

 

i can can not have damaged anything I was supper carful 

 

please help me trouble shoot,

i have rest cmos I think and pressed the bios reset button on the back of the board and it's still the same 

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz- 

also (1600) 

asus rog crosshairs vi hero x370-

MSI 980ti G6 1506mhz slix2 -

h110 pull - acer xb270hu 1440p -

 corsair 750D - corsair 16gb 2933

What's that ? 

U mean I should take the 8 pin out and put it back in ? The big 8 pin thing at the top left of the CPU socket ?

Only need to put thermal paste on the CPU, no need to put on the heatsink.

 

Recoinnect CPU power as stated by airdeano,

 

Also maybe try re-seat RAM

It's delidded so I had to do under and on top of the ihs

Did you check for physical damage after delidding? The adhesive intel uses between the die and ihs is dog shit so I understand why you'd delid but still risky!

Well long story short I dropped the CPU after delid and broke off 4 capacitors 

but a shop repaired them for me and it had been working since
